To upgrade a Flip Coin you need to spend Cash and have sufficient duplicates of a particular Flip Coin.

If you go to your Coin Collection and tap on a Flip Coin, you will find the Cost To Upgrade it at the bottom of the pop-up box.

When you have enough Cash and duplicates you can press the Upgrade button underneath the coin to add a Star to it, which gives you more opportunities to flip it.
